I SCREAMED WITH EXCITEMENT

Ya, I'm so excited!!!
We got a post card in the mail today that says,
 "Congratulations from the
Family Feud!!!
We are now on a waiting list they could call at any time to come and be on the show.
They also say on it that there is a chance they will not have enough shows to have every family on they sent a post card to.  So there is a slight chance we could not get the call.
But I am very hopeful.
So  . . .
When that day comes, I will blog more about that.
SO COOL!!!

THE BEGININGS

11 years ago this month, Morgan picked me up at a bowling alley.  (It was August 13th, 1998, ya I remember the exact day we met.)  I was with two of my friends, and we had heard of this singles ward family home evening, that they go bowling.  That sounded fun, so we decided to go.  One of my friends knew Morgan’s foster brother, so they started bowling right next to our lane.  So this one guy, Morgan, would not stop staring at me.  My friends even commented to me about him.  It was obvious he like my bowling skills, especially from behind.

That night Morgan asked me out on our first date.  We went to the Diamond Backs game.  We shared a super large nacho and a super large Dr. Pepper.  A match made in heaven.  I knew from the first date that Morgan was super special.  I just wanted to hold his hand and walk right next to him the whole time.  But I didn’t cause that would have been weird on the first date.

We saw each other almost every day for the next couple weeks.  I took him two weeks to kiss me.  I finally had to ask him if he wanted to.  He kisses great by the way.

We were engaged two months later and were married four months after that.
I am the luckiest lady alive.  Morgan is just perfect for me.  He makes me so happy every day.  He still makes butterflies in my stomach when I see him.  I love how he is with my girls. They love him so much.  I love his hands and his legs, and his eyes and his lips.

He will probably never even read this, cause he really doesn’t care what I put on this family blog. But if he ever does, I love you Morgan and I always will.

THE HAIR TWIRLER

This is the result of Jolie's hair twirling.
Whenever she has her binky in her mouth, she is twirling her hair.
As you can see she has some knots in her hair.
I'm just glad it makes her happy and she'll go back to sleep.

It is not fun to brush out.

FAMILY FEUD PICS

Here are some pictures of our day at the try out for
The Family Feud.
We were very excited.  We had to watch about 30 families play two rounds.  This was good cause we got to see things not to do and things that we should do.
Seriously how could they not pick this family?
Now we just wait to see if we made it and get to go to Cali.

LET'S PLAY THE FAMILY FEUD!!!

I did one of the most exciting things ever. I auditioned for
The Family Feud.
I know.. so crazy.
But aren't I just perfect for the show?
For those of you who don't know what The Family Feud is, like my babysitter, it is a game show that has been on TV for a very very long time.  It involves two families competing against each other, trying to pick the most common things of common questions.  Like: Name something you would ask a waiter for, in a bottle, or Name things that have to do with eskimos.
Me, my older sister, my older brother, my little brother, my mom, and my niece tried out.  There was 6 of us, and the show picks five of us, if we make it.
I think we did so awesome that they just might pick us.  I hope I get to go.  I was soooo nervous. But it was OK cause I was up there with my family and they made it soo fun.  We were out there crazy, giving high fives, yelling "good answer", and all the things that go along with the show.
So we'll see.            Fingers crossed.

FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL 2009

Lainey started all day Kindergarden and Avery is a big third grader now.
Starting about two weeks ago, Lainey asked ever day when was school going to started.
Then she started asking me what time I was going to wake her up.  She was concerned I wouldn't wake her up in time.  Luckily I remembered to wake them up.  They were so excited, they jumped out of bed and got ready in record time.  (That didn't last long. Today, the second day of school, I had to keep nagging Avery to hurry up.)
Lainy didn't even need me to tell her what to do when she got there.  I think Pre-K helped her out a lot.  She just put her backpack down in her line and went to play on the play ground.  She didn't look back once.  When the bell rang, I wondered what she would do cause I don't remember if I told her to listen for the bell and then line up. But since all the other kids were going to get in line, so did she.  Her teacher was there waiting and she just got in line and went in.  She didn't even know I was still there, until I called her name to say goodbye.
There was one poor little screaming-crying boy in her class.  The poor dad and the poor teacher.  That is so hard.
Jolie jumped up and down when they finally came home from school.  She missed her sisters soooo much.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM AND DAD

This last week, my family celebrated both my mom and my dad's birthdays.  We all went out to Joe's BBQ on Tuesday.  (My dad ate for free) Then yesterday we had a nice family dinner at their house.  We had Italian food and chocolate pie. It was delicious.
I have the best parents.  No really I do.
When I think about what I am most thankful for when it comes to my parents, it is how they have always taught me through example.  I want to be like both my parents.  They are the most wonderful people.
They love the gospel of Jesus Christ and show it, by living it.
They are so unselfish and caring.
They love their family.
They are the most loving grandparents.
My mom has so many good good friends. I hope I can keep all my friends like she does and make new ones like she does. She is so fun and creative. She always is making people laugh.
My dad is such a hard worker. He is the best dentist in town.  He even runs marathons.
Such a great examples!!!
When people find out I'm their daughter they always say, "Oh I just love your parents, or your mom is so funny, or your dad is the best." And I always say "I know, I'm very lucky."
I love you mom and dad. Thanks for being such awesome parents and grandparents.

THE SHOE TIEER

Lainey's new school shoes are laced.  These are her first big shoes she's had, that have to be tied.

So she learned.  Just after a couple of times, she had it down.

First: Start with shoes on your feet.
That is a very important step. You shouldn't tie shoes off of you feet and then try to put them on. That doesn't work very well.
Second: Tie a single knot.

Third:  Make a loop (bunny ear) with one of the laces.

Fouth: Wrap the other lace around bunny ear.

Lastly: Pull that lace through the hole and pull both loops.

All done.
There you have two tied shoes and one happy girl.
Now she's really ready for kindergarden.

SAYING GOODBYE

Today I said goodbye to one of the sweetest, nicest and most caring woman, I have ever known.

Grandma Gay will be very missed.
Thankful she didn't have to suffer and that she went so peacefully.

The funeral was so nice.  Morgan's family always does such a nice job at putting things together. They asked me to sing a song she wanted called Going Home.  People say it was nice and I thought I did good. The great grandkids sang Love One Another. That was sooo sweet.  Her life story was given by Morgans cousin Beth and her husband, and that was absolutely wonderful.

It is nice to remember and learn about her life but sad to say goodbye.
But I know I will see Grandma Gay again, someday.  (And maybe even she'll thank me for singing her song for her today.)
I know she is in a much nicer place and that she is "Going Home".
