PUMPKIN CARVING

Our friendly neighborhood has a Halloween party every year.  We decided to go this year to be nice, neighborly people and to let our kids have even more Halloween fun.
They advertised a pumpkin carving contest, so I told the girls I would help them carve some to try to win a prize.  (I am competitive.)
Lainey lasted about 2 seconds trying to get all the slimy gooey stuff out of her pumpkin.  Avery did a pretty good job.
(Avery and her silly faces.  After this was taken, I told her I was going to put it on my blog and I think she will now think first before she makes silly faces again for the camera. She is a character.)
They were so excited to have there own pumpkins to take to the party.

Lainey's is the skeleton one and it won first, Avery's won third place.  I don't think they were fantastic, but there just wasn't that many other ones to compare to.  They each won a goody bag that had candy and a bunch of glow sticks and necklaces.  And I think they get their picture in the neighborhood newsletter also. It was fun for them.  And a little fun for me too.

Quite the talented carvers you are! We ran out of time last week to carve our pumpkins. I totally wanted to and so did Barrett...hopefully next year. They look great!
